Whether she’s starring in a new movie or walking down a red carpet, one thing’s for certain: Dakota Johnson knows how to make people stop and notice her.
Dakota surely had fans talking when she walked the red carpet at the 2022 Met Gala this past May. As the night’s theme was “In America: Anthology of Fashion,” the Fifty Shades of Grey actress paid homage to one of the most iconic eras of couture: rock and roll. She did this by wearing a red robe with a sheer black lace Gucci jumpsuit underneath.
While the outfit certainly made headlines all on its own, there were more intricate touches to Dakota’s look. The detailing of the bodysuit featured bejeweled fringes that started from the neckline and ran all the way down the legs. She wore minimal accessories other than a pair of long dangling earrings and a pair of pointed buckled stiletto heels. To tie the entire look together, Dakota paired her blown-out dark tresses with a smoky eye and neutral lip color.
All we can say is, wow: Dakota certainly isn’t afraid to take fashion risks. What’s more, this isn’t the first time the actress has worn daring looks to various Hollywood events. Earlier this year during the summer, Dakota found a new way to spice up an iconic look for fashion. Stepping out in a white blazer dress for the Tribeca Film Festival, the Persuasion star‘s version of the fashion staple featured quite a unique detail. Instead of the dress having a cloth back, it featured a cutout of a crystal spine and rib cage in lieu of a back. Talk about being fearless in Hollywood!
So when can we expect Dakota to give us another taste of her bold fashion choices? That’s to be determined. Until then, we’ll just have to find a way to have a version of this jumpsuit hanging in our own closets.
