Season 22 of The Voice has been underway since September, and folks continue to tune in to see what Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Camila Cabello get up to. Between standout performances and plenty of antics, it’s easy to say fans are still entertained. But the fun is coming to a brief pause.
As viewers know, The Voice typically airs two episodes per week — Mondays and Tuesdays. Lately, the knockout rounds have kept many on their toes, thanks to the new twist of three hopefuls vying for a coveted spot in the live shows. While Monday’s episode aired as usual, fans might have noticed that the hit competition series is missing from the Tuesday lineup. In other words, The Voice will not be airing tonight.
When is The Voice coming back to NBC with a new episode?
The Voice will return with new episodes starting Monday, November 14 at 8 p.m. ET. While the first half of the season featured mostly pre-recorded episodes, the show will now begin shifting to its live format. Starting November 14, fans will have the chance to vote in real time for their favorite contestant to continue on in the competition.
But why is there no new episode of The Voice on tonight? The network is using its primetime slot to cover the 2022 midterm elections. Starting at 8 p.m. ET, news anchors will call which states elected which officials to represent them in various seats in government, like the House of Representatives and Senate. NBC won’t be the only network airing election coverage. ABC and CBS will be doing the same thing during this time slot as well.
As for the rest of The Voice season 22, new episodes are set to air throughout the end of 2022 with the finale happening sometime in December. But TV-goers won’t have to wait too long for season 23, as NBC announced a premiere date of March 6. Sitting in the red chairs will be Blake (for the final time), returning coach Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper.
