Jeopardy! host Mayim Bialik is setting the record straight about her recent language on the quiz show.

With season 38 of Jeopardy! about halfway through, The Big Bang Theory actress continues playing tag team with Jeopardy! legend Ken Jennings at the lectern. In her latest run sharing clues and answers with contestants, Jeopardy! fans noticed that Mayim switched up the script on the trivia show. Instead of calling the first part of the show “the Jeopardy! round,” she started referring to it as “Single Jeopardy!” and it didn’t go over well with folks watching from home.

“That brings us to the end of a very back-and-forth Single Jeopardy! round. Double Jeopardy! is up after this,” Mayim said in one episode. After viewers took to Twitter with their concerns, some wondered if it was a decision she made on her own or if the show was involved. Now, the Call Me Kat star is clarifying what really happened behind the scenes that prompted her to use the “Single Jeopardy!” phrase.

Speaking with Yahoo! Entertainment, Mayim addressed the comments she saw swirling on the internet. The neuroscientist shared that she was inspired by late Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek’s use of the expression every now and then. Still, she says that in the event that it wasn’t an unacceptable phrase, the show would have told her to stop. But they didn’t.

“If it wasn’t right, they would’ve had me redo it. Meaning, I barely act alone, I promise,” Mayim told the outlet. “There [are] so many things that we retape. We go back. I flub things. You’re seeing an edited version. So, it’s funny when I saw [comments], I was like, ‘But if it was literally not kosher there’s a million producers, writers and researchers. They’re all listening to me.’”

Though she claimed she only “did it once,” Jeopardy! fans voiced their thoughts about hearing Single Jeopardy! for two weeks when she hosted the regular in-season episodes and the National College Championship special. Regardless, Mayim vows that she won’t be using that phrase again no matter what instructions she’s given.

“I will never do it again! Even if it’s in this script, I will not say it,” she told the publication. “People care a lot. I get it and I’m sorry. I’m doing my best! … I say things all the time where they’ll be like, ‘What? No, that doesn’t … Do it again.’ So, it’s not like Mayim’s going rogue! Everything is very carefully monitored. There’s a thing in my ear, I promise.”
